Discover NOAA's Pioneers:
People and Technology!

NOAA has a wealth of heritage resources that recall the agency's proud history and legacy of service to the nation. During NOAA Heritage Week, Feb. 6-11, 2006, artifacts representing that heritage were put on display at the agency's headquarters in Silver Spring, MD. NOAA also saluted eight pioneers, past and present, who have made significant contributions to our understanding of land, sea and sky.

Miss "Treasures of NOAA's Ark"? Take the virtual tour or visit the exhibit in person at Nauticus- The National Maritime Center in Norfolk , Virginia, March 4-September 4, 2006.

Please join us for the next NOAA Heritage Week, February 5-10, 2007, as we celebrate 200 years of NOAA science, service and stewardship!

The Treasures of NOAA's Ark exhibit was featured in the Silver Spring Gazette! Read the article to learn more about the event and to view additional photographs.
